Comics
While I'm best known for my single panel comic Bogart Creek, I do enjoy creating sequential comics (which explains my attraction to commercial storyboard work). Here are a few I've published over the years.
Tales from the Coop

A couple years ago I decided I wanted capture the antics of the three chickens - Blanche, Sophia, and R2D2 - my wife and I share our property with. The first pass was kind of dark and dirty (because, as cute as they are, chickens can also be pretty gross), and arguably more funny that this version which I submitted to the syndicates.
At Home in the Foothills

I wrote and illustrated this 10-pager for the "Alberta Comics: Home" anthology (Renegade Arts Entertainment, 2023). The goal of the anthology was to reflect on what "home" means to each artist as they emerged from the pandemic. Always a fan of noir crime fiction, I opted for a dark take on the topic.
Night Prowler

I wrote and drew this short story for the "Rock is Not Dead" anthology (11th Dimension Press, 2016). The mission of the anthology was to get the artists to pick a rock song and write a story based on it. Then the publisher paired up bands with each story who recorded the song covers. A CD was released along with the book. A long time fan of AC/DC, I chose their creepy "Night Prowler" as my song. I was also inspired by all the roach-infested apartments I'd rented during my 20 years in downtown Toronto, before escaping to rural Souther Alberta.
Interview with a Renegade

I interviewed and drew this comic about my publisher, Alexander Finbow, of Renegade Arts Entertainment, as an editorial cartoon assignment for readalberta.ca. Renegade is Alberta's largest publisher of graphic novels and Alexander is a great champion of new, upcoming authors looking to break into the industry.
