Cartoon Classes
While some supplies will be provided, students are asked to bring a sketch pad, a pencil, eraser, ruler, and ink pen). Students are free to bring pencil crayons or markers if they wish to add colour to their creations.
A maximum class size of 12 is ideal to ensure that the instructor has time to help each student with their creations.

The class would be appropriate for ages 10 and up.

Single class: one, 2-hour stand-alone session.
In this class students will receive an introduction to the basics of figure drawing, portraiture, and gesture, with the final goal of creating their own, fully realized cartoon characters.
The class will start with a demonstration by the instructor, followed by activity sheets designed to focus on specific techniques, and then students will let their imaginations and talent loose to create their own characters.

Short course: three, 2-hour classes.
This class is designed to break up the core lessons into three sessions:
Class 1: Faces, Figures and Hands
Class 2: Composition, perspective, and lighting
Class 3: Inking, Character design and Storytelling

Complete course: six, 2-hour classes.
This is the most robust class, allowing students time to focus deeply on each aspect of the art of cartooning:
Class 1: Faces - from portraiture to caricature
Class 2: Figures and hands.
Class 3: Drapery, costumes, and perspective.
Class 4: Character, prop, and scene design.
Class 5: Lighting, inking, and the principles of comic storytelling. Students will begin planning and writing their own original comic (whether a single panel, comic strip, or comic book).
Class 6: The full class will be dedicated to students applying what they've learned to create their own original characters and comics.
